Kompact Cladding Installation Overview
1. Surface Preparation:
- Ensure the wall or substrate is clean, flat, and structurally sound.
- Remove any dirt, dust, or debris that could affect adhesion.
2. Layout and Planning:
- Plan the layout of the Kompact cladding panels, considering any patterns or design preferences.
- Measure and mark the placement of each panel on the wall.
- Inspect the panels for any damage to Kompact Panels prior to installation and please identify the manufacturer prior to installation. Please note manufacturers warranty extends only to product.
3. Adhesive Application:
- Apply the recommended adhesive for Kompact panels to the back of the panel and the wall.
- Use a notched trowel to create a consistent adhesive layer.
4. Panel Installation:
- Carefully place the Kompact cladding panel onto the wall, pressing firmly to ensure good adhesion.
- Use spacers to maintain consistent joint widths between panels.
- For countertops and floors, panels must be installed over an anti-fracture membrane.
5. Cutting Kompact Cladding:
- Use a wet saw with a diamond Porcelain blade.
- Optimal cut speeds for Kompact are typically between 4,000 and 5,000 RPM.
- Water should be used to cool the blade and minimize dust.
6. Sealing Joints:
- Fill the joints between Kompact panels with a suitable joint filler or silicone sealant.
- Ensure the joints are properly sealed to prevent water infiltration.
7. Cleaning and Final Inspection:
- Clean off any excess adhesive or sealant from the surface of the panels with a damp sponge.
- Inspect the installation for any gaps, unevenness, or imperfections.
- Make any necessary adjustments or touch-ups to ensure a professional finish.
